Standard Twin Room In Bairnsdale

Slide 1
Slide 2

The Standard Twin at Mitchell On Main is our go-to room when there’s a third in the party but two rooms feels like overkill. You get a Queen bed and a single in the one room, a private bathroom with a walk-in shower, and a work desk with free unlimited Wi-Fi. Everything’s sorted, and nothing gets bolted onto the bill on the way out.

We’re right on Main Street, so you can leave the car parked out the front and walk to dinner. Bairnsdale Railway Station is about an eight-minute walk, St Mary’s is just up the road, and the Mitchell River’s a ten-minute stroll. It’s a solid, good-value base for a family passing through, tradies working nearby, or anyone heading down to the Gippsland Lakes. The Standard Twin sleeps a maximum of 3 guests, and the whole property is strictly non-smoking, indoors and out.

How many people can stay in the Standard Twin Room?

Up to three guests. The Standard Twin has one Queen bed and one single in the same room, so it suits a small family, two mates who’d rather not share a bed, or three workmates on the road. We don’t add rollaways or extra mattresses to this one. Need room for four or more? Ask about our Superior 2-Room Family Apartment — give reception a ring on (03) 5152 5012.

One Queen bed and one single bed, both in the one room. It’s the middle ground between a Queen room and a full family apartment — two on the Queen, one on the single.
We’re about 36 km from Lakes Entrance (a 30-minute drive) and 17 km from Paynesville (around 18 minutes). Metung is roughly 30 km and Sale is about 65 km, so the Standard Twin makes a handy, affordable base for exploring the whole Gippsland Lakes region.
Easily. We’re right on Main Street, so Bairnsdale’s cafes, pubs and shops are on your doorstep. Bairnsdale Railway Station is about 600 m away — an eight-minute walk — with V/Line trains to Southern Cross in Melbourne. St Mary’s Catholic Church is 350 m up the road and the Mitchell River is a ten-minute stroll.

The room is strictly non-smoking — that includes vaping, candles, and incense. There’s a designated smoking area near the bin enclosure on the eastern side of the property, signposted from the car park. Cleaning fees for smoking inside the room are $250, and yes, our cleaners can tell.

Check-in is from 2:00 PM and check-out is by 10:00 AM. Reception is staffed 24 hours, so if you’re arriving early or late, just call ahead on (03) 5152 5012 and we’ll sort it.
Yes — free off-street parking right outside your room, with space for cars, work utes, trailers and the family caravan. No booking and no surcharge.
